Celebrate Arbor Day with Fritz Brothers and Local Elementary Schools

Shalimar, Florida, April 24, 2006 -- Fritz Brothers Tree Service will be celebrating Arbor Day by donating time to work with the area’s youth at local schools. Certified Arborists from Fritz Brothers will be visiting with the students from Shalimar Elementary School on April 27th and Blue Water Elementary Schools upon completion of their new playground.

Arbor Day is the celebration of the importance of trees and has been an ongoing tradition across North America since 1872. This nationally recognized holiday gives us an opportunity to learn about the impact trees have on our lives and take positive action to make the world a better place.

Shalimar Elementary:

A tree care crew, headed by Certified Arborist Les Fritz, will be at Shalimar Elementary from 9:00 am to 10:30 am visiting with 200 fourth and fifth grade students and teachers. Mr. Fritz will be educating the students on the important role trees play in our community and demonstrate some intriguing tree care techniques. To capture the spirit of Arbor Day, saplings will be handed out for children to take home and plant in their yards.

Blue Water Elementary:

The Arbor Day activities at Blue Water Elementary began on Saturday April 22. Lead by Certified Arborist Jim Kline, Fritz Brothers donated time and resources to remove tree hazards from the playground area and cleared space for new playground equipment. Once the playground is finished, Fritz Brothers will be revisiting the school to help students plant new trees in the playground area.
